Why Every Adult Should Train at MIMA

Our school teaches easy, practical, techniques, and it’s a great way to get into and stay in shape.   Whether you run marathons or spend time your time on the couch we have the right program to fit your needs.

Martial Arts is a Fun, Fulfilling Workout for Adults

Our adult students really appreciate the differences between martial arts training and standard exercise programs.  We have had so many of our adult students tell us how they either were bored with the gym or having trouble staying on track with their goals at other exercise programs.  After taking just one class with us we have had feed back such as “this is more fun than palates”

What makes our program unique?

Master Krista Hall, holds a bachelors degree in psychology and is a trained therapeutic recreation specialist as well as a 4th Degree Black Belt.   She has spent the last 10 years perfecting the martial arts routines used in our adult programs that not only help you get into better shape, but also reduce the likelihood of injury or can be adapted to those who may have had injuries in the past.

Master MeLisa Turcott Strongheart holds a Masters Degree in Psychology and was a trained and practicing counselor who has worked with children, youth, and families for years.   She also has 5th Degree Black Belt.   When you think of a great martial arts program you not only seek the physical techniques behind the program, but also the philosophical ideas that come with the marital arts.   Master Strongheart has spent over 13 years teaching martial arts to adults and children alike and with her background in both martial arts and psychology she is able to help adults and teens develop the confidence and self esteem to take it their lives to the next level.

1. Our workouts are a great way to get in shape
Martial arts is like an exercise program with a bonus! You learn to defend yourself while you get in shape. Because we have two master instructors as well as our assistant instructors, our adults and teens receive the benefits of personal to semi-personal training in every class. This allows us to work with you to develop a vision to keep you on track and to actualize that vision for your life.  You will reach your goals.

2. Our classes relieve stress
Martial arts are well known for its stress relieving benefits. The emphasis on mind-body training goes far beyond the benefits of standard, health club type exercise programs.  Our students report, that after starting martial arts with us they feel less stress and are able to be more productive in their work life as well as feeling in increase in their energy and positive attitude.

3. Our classroom practice sessions give you confidence
I think the confidence building part of our program is what students appreciate the most. Nothing can take the place of the security in knowing that you can defend yourself, if you have to.  It is nice to know that you are able to defend yourself if the situation arises.   Both men and women feel more empowered after just a short time training with us.  They also find that the longer they train the more secure they feel.

At our school, everything we teach is reality based. Our instructors work very hard to insure that most any situation you might encounter is covered in the classroom under very safe learning conditions, so you will be prepared.

The reason our program is so successful is because we make the classes fun and exciting. We learned a long time ago that if people are having fun, they learn much faster.
